WHO expert Maria van Kerkhove says the Hong Kong resurgence in nursing facilities unfortunately mirrors the devastating impact when Covid-19 spreads in elderly centers in many other countries and places.
She said preventive measures should be done "for the shortest amount of time and in the smallest geographic area as possible so that you can keep the economy going."
Van Kerkhove, the World Health Organization's technical head of Covid-19 response, said "Hong Kong will bring this outbreak under control as it has done in the past" with SARS and bird flu.
